Penalties reach 10 years for a first offense and 20 years for a second, plus fines under 18 U.S.C. Section 3571. Aggravated cases under Section 1029(c)(1)(A)(i) carry up to 15 years.
Buying card data carries the same statute. So does possessing 15 or more devices with intent to defraud.
